Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. We should all drink more water. But I often struggle to get through the recommended 1.5 to 2 litres a day. Since I became pregnant I am even more conscious of staying hydrated throughout the day. But if I am feeling a little off especially in the mornings the last thing I want to drink or can stomach is water. So I started adding homemade flavoured ice-cubes to my water. Most of the time it's just tap water but sometimes I add them to sparkling or soda water. I would imagine and can only dream longingly that they would taste pretty good in a gin and tonic too! Use juice, zest, whole berries, cordial, whatever takes your fancy.
My favourite flavours:
- cucumber, basil and lime
- lemon ginger and mint
- blood orange and pomegranate
- raspberry and elderflower
