New year, new you? Do it now? Eat well, exercise, meditate? It seems the first day of January resolutions have become a badge of honour for the virtuous and iron-willed among us. If you are one of those people I admire you greatly and find you inspiring. But what if you haven't started yet and are struggling to find the motivation? I also admire you and find you inspiring. For I am that person! Not everything is as simple as picking a date, choosing a goal and sticking to the plan. Sometimes even deciding on a goal is challenging enough. Life can be a juggling act and sometimes things get in the way. So what to do? My new year intention (I have ditched the word resolution altogether as it has become meaningless to me) is to adopt the Swedish concept of 'Lagom' in everything I do. It means just enough. I intend to incorporate this quality of moderation in everything I do. Move just enough to feel healthy. Eat just enough to feel nourished. Meditate just enough to stay grounded. There are no limits or strict schedules. Is it lazy? Perhaps. But is it sustainable? Yes. If I fail one day that doesn't mean I have to quit, I will just pick it back up again as soon as I can. And I decided this on the 3 January and the sky hasn't fallen yet. Happy 2016 xxx
